Please note there is no onion that’s why this is different from paneer butter masala. Paneer refers to Indian cheese & Makhan refers to butter. So paneer makhani translates to paneer cooked with butter.
This is can be served with plain rice/basmati rice and naan/butter naan.

Paneer Makhani
Paneer makhani is a popular Punjabi delicious curry cook with paneer, tomatoes, cashews, spices & cream.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cream
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil/ butter
- ½ cup paneer cut into small cubes
- ½ cup butter
- 1 tbsp ginger & garlic paste
- 10-9 cashews nuts
- 1 tbsp red chili
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 big tomato cut into small cubes
- 1 tbsp white sugar
- 1 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp dry fenugreek leave
- 1 Cinnamon stick small
- 2 green cardamom
- 1 cup water
Instructions
- Make a paste of tomato and cashews nuts, fine paste.
- In a pan add oil than butter so that butter will not turn black, add cinnamon stick, cardamoms fry for 30sec, now add ginger garlic paste and cook for 1 minute. when raw smell goes add tomato puree, red chili, salt, and garam masala and saute it till oil saparates in 5 minutes and cover it with lid.
- now add paneer mix for 1 minute, add water, sugar cook for 10 more minutes by covering then add crushed dry fenugreek leave and mix, its ready add 2 tbsp cream and server with rice or naan.
