This is also called imli ki chutney and originate from India use in many chaat recipes, vada pav, sandwich, and many more.

This taste sweet and sour which gives nice and naughty feeling. this can be serves with pakod, samosa, dahi vada and many more. can serve with onion pakoda , potato pakora, chicken fry, samosa etc.

There is again different methods to make it but i will share my mother’s method, quick and easy.. More commonly identified as vada pav chutney – Tamarind Chutney is one chutney out of Garlic chutney and Green Chutney. All of these chutneys you can save in separate glass gar for a long time in the fridge.

Tamarind chutney

Chuteny for pani puri, vada pav, sandwich and more chaat items. This taste sweet and sour which give nice and naughty feeling. this can be serves with pakoda ,samosa, dahi vada, and many more.
Prep Time 3 minutes
Cook Time 10 minutes

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cups tamarind or tamarind paste
  • ½ jaggery
  • 3 red chili powder,
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp ginger powder
  • 1 cup water

Instructions
 

  • In a pan add water, jaggery, tamarind paste, sugar, red chili powder, cumin powder,salt to taste and ginger powder. Bring mixture to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to medium and let it boil for 3-4 minutes until the chutney turns thick and coats the back of a spoon.
  • Cool and keep in dry container or bowel.
